Ok I added that into local.cf and restarted spamd, and in the header of
my test spam mail I get the line:
X-Spam-Status: Yes, hits=38.0 required=5.0
But no subject rewrite.
I am lost...

and it works great with 2.53/spamd.
Remember to restart spamd after the edit.

I have removed ALL files in the /etc/mail/spamassassin directory, and as
predicted it resets all values to default. However still, mail that is
marked as spam, isn't getting the subject

Greetings all. I attempted to dig through the archives but didn't seem
to come across anything that seems to help me. I was hoping someone
could assist me in determining what is up with my spamassassin.
I am running OpenBSD 3.2 with qmail, and vpopmail with ClamAV. I am
using the qmail-queue
I recently installed SpamAssassin on a FreeBSD box running sendmail, and
using procmail as the MTA.
SpamAssassin seems to be doing ok, but it's not changing the subject line
of the email messages that score higher than the required_hits.
It does put the X-Spam-Status line in the message header
