Hi John,
What does 'chkconfig --list spamd' display? You should see
a "3:on" in there, hopefull
I believe you need to tell it what runlevels to start at. I don't have
Red Hat, but a "man chkconfig" should help.

/etc/rc.d/init.d/spamd, and made it executable.
and
chkconfig --add spamd
to get it to start at boot. H
