man chkconfig

HINT: look for the --level option.

to get it to start at boot.  However, it isn't.  I am able to start
spamd from the command prompt.

I've been through the documentation (in fact, they are printed and
cataloged in a binder), and various tutorial websites.

Can someone please point me in the right direction.
