the option -n is not working for the USB-Device Toshiba DWC120 2TB.
Smart Status reporting and checks work.
I am using version 6.4 2015-06-04 r4109
Here some output which hopefully helps to find the problem.
# smartctl -i -n idle /dev/sdb
