Thanks for the advice. I edited dll.conf & commented out epson, and
added in '
The epson backend is deprecated and unsupported. Please use epson2
instead. You may have to disable epson and enable epson2 in
/etc/sane.d/dll.conf.

Summary: sane reports that my scanner, which was working fine before I did
some Ubuntu upgrades, now possesses 0 scanning capabilities. This is a bug

The epson frontend allows for a choice of several different negatives,
suggesting the automatic removal of the different orange masks used by
different film manufacturers. Does the Sane epson backend support this
feature?
Hi,
Does the epson2 backend also support the scanners supported by the
unmaintained epson backend? Or does it mean that we have scanners not
maintained any more?

Hello developers,
Some scanners have been reported to work with the epson backend on
this list or in bug reports but epson.desc was never updated.
Therefore the scanners are still not listed as supported on our

instead of removing the USB IDs for the Perfection 1250.

Thanks. Looks like I picked the wrong line. I added the 1650 back in and
finally removed the 1250.
