Are you sure that the SCSI ID of the scanner is different from any other ID on the bus? Is the bus properly terminated? Is the SCSI cable of permissible length? If the SCSI controller cannot initialize its bus, it might declare itself as offline at boot time. Regards, Ulrich Deiters
