i used USBPCAP (http://desowin.org/usbpcap/), the program suggested by
Wireshark, and they were started at different steps

Same versions here. Debian Unstable laptop.

I also tested it with latest Ubuntu 14.04 and find the same issue.
Is there any other piece of software involved to check versioning?

the green lines are very very light, mostly seen in white/clear zones of the
image, not so much on dark ones. and they are always on the left side of the
image, at about 1 cm from the left margin. they go from top to bottom
