the epkowa driver and can access it from GIMP2. I do have to do
it by logging in, starting my printer (turn 0n) then starting GIMP, it starts
scanner about half way thru the startup. Have not tryed it from GIMP after it
is running without the bove steps.

How can I get the output of the command written to file? 'command > (somename)'
doesn't work for me. There is copious output, do you really want all of that
in an email?

After this the lamp remains on but the scanner has to be repowered and
reinstalled from the command line before scanimage can see it.
Is there any more info I can supply?
