[sane-devel] FYI: Giving up on Mustek 1200 III EP support

2005-11-23 Thread Ron Hunter-Duvar
In case anyone was interested in this... About a month ago I announced that I was going to try to add sane support for my Mustek 1200 III EP scanner. Jochen and his contacts at Mustek were very helpful in trying to find the Windows driver source, but ultimately it was nowhere to be found. I tri

I have a chance to pick up a used AGFA Snapscan 1212U from a friend (he moved to XP and it's not supported, and gives dire warnings against trying). I see that the support on both the current stable version and the dev version is marked as "good". Is there any important features known to be mis

FWIW, I came across this while I was getting the latest versions of some other utilities from sysinternals (my employer still makes me use Windoze): http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Portmon.html I don't know if anyone else is doing any parallel port scanner development work, so maybe no on

[sane-devel] Thinking about trying to add support for Mustek 1200 III EP

2005-10-04 Thread Ron Hunter-Duvar
Hi, I have an old Mustek 1200 III EP parallel port scanner I'd like to use under Linux. Unfortunately, it's not supported by the sane-mustek_pp backend. I'm not going to boot into Windoze just to use the scanner, so right now it's useless. It's not even heavy enough to use as a boat anchor 8^).
