previous messages I had an issue accessing the usb device as normal user...
Well, I performed diverse tests you told me and finally found the problem, but
now can't find a solution and maybe someone has

I currently belong to users, root and scanner groups... udev remains untouched,
epson.conf is ok since it works as root, but there's no access as normal user
yet, have no idea why...

I did already all what README.linux indicates but there?s no normal user
access, tried the udev rules, tried to set 777 permissions by hand, verified
configuration dozen times, but have no access... even tried to ?suid? but xsane
does not work throwing a message that suid is not supported

One question, how can I set by hand permissions to the usb scanner device to be
worldwide accessible? I tried
chmod 777 /proc/bus/usb/00#/00#
# are the specified numers by sane-find-scanner (or at least I guess that) but
normal user can't access...
They only way to recognize the scan

Well don't know what could be the problem, just returned to the previous
version and it was working again... I guess something changed in the library
with this particular model...
Now have a new problem, can't access except as root, in any way can let a

I reinstalled many times backend 1.0.19, frontend 1.0.14 and xsane 0.995 but
was unable to make it work with my Epson CX3900... Just to try removed latest
version and installed the previous backend 1.0.18 and xsane 0.994 and now it
recognizes the scanner and works fine, but now I have

I've just reinstalled my system and can't make work SANE again with my Epson
CX-3900
My scanner is 100% supported and was running on Slackware 12 (now 12.1), all
installation procedure for MY scanner was stored in a text file so I don't
forget it (have reinstalled it several times
