Is anyone having any succes with the Epson 636U and Panther?
I'd tried about 6 months ago and wasn't getting recognition.
Perhaps some backend changes or whatever and someone has made a "connection".
Thanks,
Fritz

I forget if it was Karl Heinz or Mattias who was expecting a 636U (or
the equivalent) for R&D.
Just asking to know what the progress is?

It's not because I turned down the CEO spot on the NYSE.
I'm about to receive a Perfection 636S, This means that I can
(for the first time) actually debug this
problem myself. I can assure you that this problem will be fixed in a
few weeks.
thanks Karl Heinz. I'm looking forward to that very much.
no if I could just get my Plextor to burn in X.

That's the interesting part of the log:

I have a G3 450Mhz running Panther.3.2 on OEM video card.
256M RAM
PCI USB 2 port and PCI FW 2 port cards.
Only the Epson 636U scanner is plugged in.
I powered the scanner on first, then plugged into the port.
There are no other apps running that scan, nor do I have any other
apps that scan. N

I installed:

hello all,
I'm trying to set OPP to use the Saane TWAIN driver. I know the
backend is good from testing with sane-find-scanner and scanimage -L.
I bring up the prefs/scanner select box.
I deselect "scan in classic".
I select TWAIN driver, but nothing shows up.
Can anyone help me figure this ou
/dev/usb/scanner0
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
