I managed to get to
scanimage (sane-backends) 1.0.25git; backend version 1.0.25
and xsane work. Thank you guys.
My next challenge is getting simple-scan to updated, because it get some
other error. But at least the scanner works now.

If you look at the supported scanners list, you will see the MG7100 is
in the latest stable release.
You'll need to get 1.0.24.
