in order to notice the lines let me describe them a little more.
the green lines are very very light, mostly seen in white/clear zones of the
image, not so much on dark ones. and they are always on the left side of the
image, at about 1 cm from the left margin. they go from top to bottom

The strange thing is that those bands are Not shown
"does not scan well" and "takes too long"- please be more specific- give
the commands that you use, and describe the problem in detail.
