not having much clue of C but it seems that scanbuttond reads which
backend libsane is using. Because this scanner doesnt use plustek
backend i will then try to create a new canon630u backend in sc
Lacking of a scanbuttond group i post it here.
Got a Canon FB636 which is working good in libsane but without buttons
it doesnt make much sense as a network scanner.
In scanbuttond it doesnt seem to be supported, when i start scanbuttond
-f it will recognize the scanner but if i press any button,
Do you receive the same error if you attempt to scan from command line?

Hi Nate,
Your scanner sticks at early scan beginning where I haven't seen
problems before.
If possible please sniff the usb protocols of a small color scan (5mm x
5mm) @ 75 dpi on a Windows machine or virtual machine. You can use
USBLyzer (export as html) or Wireshark or
http://benoit.papillault.
Hi Wikus,
Your scanner should run with SANE >= 1.0.24.
The Canon MF4700 Series has been implemented as MF4770n
(http://www.sane-project.org/sane-backends.html#S-PIXMA). Please check
the usb id before in a terminal with 'lsusb'. The response should
contain '04a9:2774'.
Cheers,
Rolf

As far as I see there is neither a brother4 driver (backend) in SANE
nor
Anything else I can do to help?
