At Debian sid, after an update with Synaptic sane, xsane, my scanners were not
recognised anymore. Uninstalled them, deleted the files, installed with
Synatic again:
sane-find-scanner
found SCSI scanner "FUJITSU M3092DCd AF10" at /dev/sg4
found SCSI scanner "FUJITSU M3096GXim 02" at /dev/sg5

I fixed the kvs backend symbol issues and committed them.
Also, I believe I have a fix for jpeg symbols. I think its just a
linking ordering issue. At least I got it working by hand editing the
frontend/Makefile and moving the libraries with missing symbols to
later in line of saned_LDADD and sc
