I spend a bit of time on the mysterious HRP 8701 chip found in a
number of scanners. I have the Compeye Simplex 1236C scanner myself
which contains this chip in addition to the PowerVision 8630 C1L, a

Hello!
I've done what Ren? Kjellerup suggested, but this gave me only 4 MB of
log and it can be compressed down to 100 KB (Used best compressing with
WinRAR, like the logs before). I think, the firmware is still not in it!
So I carefully disammbled my scanner. Then I shot this Photo with my

What I'd try, when unplugging and replugging the scanner and it
doesn't stop adding to the log, is; just after you replugged the
Scanner is to start up the scanner software.
ie. In Photoshop go to:
Files->Import->CanoScan 3000F

It's for the 4490, but maybe the 3490 has the same problem?
