you have a couple options:
1. attempt to dis-assemble the windows driver (pita)
2. open the scanner and see if any of the numbers on any of the chips
sound like a supported scanner (fat chance)
3. get packet logs from scanner running on windows, and hope it uses a
higher level protocol like scsi
