O.K. I eventually discovered I can put a document in the ADF and there is no
more error message and it will then scan from the flatbed. Not too difficult
for a workaround.
I had tried changing the 'AV_FUJITSU' to '0' as described below and there
was no change of results. I do not know what this
ahh, now that i look at the avision backend, i see that it only mentions=20
scanpartner units up thru the 600, but not the 620.
you could try adding a new block for the 620c down near line 900 of=20
avision.c and recompile. just copy the 600 block.
if that does not work, you might try setting the
Sees that almost everything works now using avision backend. I can set
brightness, contrast, scan color, gray scale, batch mode, and I didn't have
the double-page feed problem that I initially had with the sp15c.
Only thing, it seems to be stuck on using the ADF, even if I use 'scanimage

try scanimage -L to see if the avision backend sees the scanner. if not,=20
it may need a line in avision.conf that says 'scsi FCPA'

I modified my /usr/local/etc/sane.d/dll.conf file.
The avision.conf already has the line 'scsi FCPA'
The 'scanimage -L'
No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,

BTW the features I need are both the Flatbed and ADF functionality, and the
resolutions 150, 240
another option might be to try the avision backend instead. it does not=20
support all of the fetures of the sp15/300/600, but it may have better=20
support for the features you need.

A tarball of the CVSROOT is generated every night, so at least you can
back it up with a cronjob :) [available to project admins, in the
Admin tab]

When I run scanimage, sane chooses the backend to use based on autodetection
result. How do I direct it to using the avision backend?

I have an agfa studiostar V1.50
The official lists would suggest that it isn't
supported but a quick look through some source code
and old documents show that it IS supported.
There's even code in Microtek-backend for the Agfa's
RRGGBB strange pixel grabbing method.
Somehow I don't think that co

The brightness and contrast levels are presently not supported by the sp15c
backend. These are presently hardcoded at 128. But I was able to get it
working in the hardware by adding "scanf" statements in sp15c.c. Scanimage
stops and I can enter numbers for brightness and contrast each time I run
