It shouldn't matter which driver you use.

I have a Mustek 1200CP scanner and the latest versions of sane:
sane-backends-1.0.11
sane-backends-extras-1.0.10.2
sane-frontends-1.0.10
xsane-0.90
running under debian woody on an Athlon 1800XP/VIA chipset, compiled
using gcc-2.95.4. I am using the mustek_pp driver.
It appears that the scanner ca
Your patch is in the CVS now.
I had to do your patch by hand because I've changed the backend after
March 3. I hope I didn't mess up your code. Please test.

Thanks Jose, fortunately I seem to have found a fix, but I'm waiting to be sure.
Things have progressed - from the other thread with an almost identical name (I

Is this a matter of leaving the light on?
I can not see any problem with the scanner being "on" from the usb point of
view, but not running the light source for weeks on end.
Do all backends allow lamp off option?

I think I'm using libusb, but I've not checked.
Between my posting and your response it's possible I've solved the problem by
commenting
out all the details listed for other scanners in snapscan.config.

I have managed to install both SANE and a USB Agfa Snapscan e20 scanner.

but all is not total sweetness and light.

There are standard "colour targets" available from photo suppliers. The
one I am using is called a Q70 card (I think) and is from Kodak. We have
been using the Pixel!FX scanner software (by Mentalix), and it provides
a calibration routine against that colour target.
It might be a good idea to buil
