[sage-devel] Compiling with Catalina

2019-11-09 Thread Rob Gross
Hi, A week ago, I posted an error log that resulted when I tried compiling with Catalina. After a week of experimentation, I learned that at least for me, configuring with --system-libpng=no solved the problem. I think that the problem occurred in the compilation of libgd, but I'm not sure.

e else has reported it, and I'm happy to use the Mac where the upgraded ran flawlessly until the next upgrade, which might clear up the problem.--Rob On Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 7:15:33 PM UTC-5, Samuel Lelievre wrote: > > > > Tue 2017-01-17 02:24:54 UTC, Rob Gross: > >

[sage-devel] R fails to compile

Hi, I tried to upgrade to 7.5.1 on several different Macs which I thought had identical software. However, on one of them, R failed to compile, with the error: installing 'sysdata.rda' dyld: Symbol not found: __libiconv_version Referenced from: /Users/gross/sage-7.0/local/var/tmp/sage/buil

Hmmm, This is odd. Neither of the following worked. On Sep 24, 12:05 pm, leif wrote: > On 24 Sep., 17:32, leif wrote: > > You could try setting SAGE64 (which is in general useless on MacOS X > 10.6, since it defaults to 64-bit builds), and rebuilding gd and all > of its dependencies > (which m

[sage-devel] ImportError: dlopen

Hi, I'm trying to compile 4.7.1. The compile on Mac OS 10.6.8 proceeds without errors, though I get an error building documentation similar to the error below. When I try to run sage, though, I get the error ImportError: dlopen(/Users/gross/sage-4.7.1/local/lib/python2.6/ sitepackages/sage/matr
