Hi,
A week ago, I posted an error log that resulted when I tried compiling with
Catalina. After a week of experimentation, I learned that at least for me,
configuring with --system-libpng=no solved the problem. I think that the
problem occurred in the compilation of libgd, but I'm not sure.
Thank you. I should have done that in my first posting. I attach the
crash report.
I have a suspicion that this is not going to be sufficient, but at least
you can tell me what I should post next.

and I'm happy to use the Mac where the upgraded ran flawlessly until the
next upgrade, which might clear up the problem.--Rob

Hi,
I tried to upgrade to 7.5.1 on several different Macs which I thought had
identical software.
However, on one of them, R failed to compile, with the error:
installing 'sysdata.rda'
dyld: Symbol not found: __libiconv_version

OK, that worked. I didn't even have to rebuild everything (at least,
not to get sage

Hmmm,
This is odd. Neither of the following worked.

Hi,
I'm trying to compile 4.7.1. The compile on Mac OS 10.6.8 proceeds
without errors, though I get an error building documentation similar
to the error below. When I try to run sage, though, I get the error
