To get it to run on winblows, as far as i've heard, you'll need to run it
with cygwin. Cygwin comes with rsync by default, and includes the
documentation.

It's part of the CygWin project, but 2.5.2 has a bug, it's better to use 2.5.1
(still available from installer) until 2.5.3 is released.

Actually cygwin already has a compiled version of rsync (I'm the
mantainer of the package).
2.4.6-1 is a plain compile

Yep. At least compiled for use with Cygwin, it works fine. I do use
a local tool to make a named pipe connection to a target machine
rather than rsh, but any old path should work.

I compiled it myself with cygwin. But I did download rsync 2.4.6
from rsync.samba.org not the cygwin version (btw thats old), don't
forget to run
