Hi, How do I get XMMS working to play mpeg and other movie files. When I load it, and select a mpeg or something, it does not do anything. I have installed apt-get, and installed the MP3 support. I know this does not get mpeg going, but where do I get plugins for video in xmms. thanks Greg

Thanks to those who replied. I use my machine for basic day to day tasks, and do nothing out of the ordinary. I just want to learn, and experiment with things. What I love about linux. I really only been using linux for a couple of months, and love it. Might have a go at re-compiling the 2.4.18

Has anyone installed jdk1.3? I tried last night using the sh wrapper version on 6.1 but the tools just hang when I run them. This morning I tried the bug-fix version j2sdk-1_3_0_01-linux.sh but after installation get the same behavior. I haven't dl'ed the rpm yet. Any thoughts? -- Reg
