I just installed pinstripe-6.9.5 through rsync from ftp.sunet.se. After
my problems i rechecked my tree and it seemed
correct.
My system is old but has a Creative 3D Blaster Riva TNT2 Vanta, PCI.
It was nice to see the old installation, everything went nicely in a
custom install.

Why don't you go out and get the scr.rpm from Redhat Rawhide:
ftp://rawhide.redhat.com/pub/rawhide/SRPMS/SRPMS/perl-5.6.0-6.scr.rpm
This is the version that is shipping on the Beta release Pinstripe. So, the
good folks at Redhat have already done most of the work.
