Hi Wrenches,
Has anyone put to use the solar drives such as the ABB solar pump drive for
other motor applications? I'd like to power a 2HP regenerative blower on
solar direct if possible.
I don't know why it wouldn't work but they are pretty specific when talking
about pumps.
Thanks!

Hi All,
I need to replace 3-5 El Sid pumps I'm using in a low volume hydronic
heating system. Other than laing pumps, are there any recommendations for
12, 24, or 48 vDC pumps? Having magnetic drives that mate with the
impeller body of the El Sids, would be a bonus.
Thanks,
Howie

Hi Howie,
I’ve had this same quandary when working with some specialty Pv-powered solar
thermal projects. I really like the Laing pumps but they are very expensive and
the D5 Solar version can be hard to get.
Recently I’ve tried the Chinese-made Topsflo DC pumps and despite some initial

Howie,
As far as I know, and I have not researched this, The El Sid drivers
mate to the pump bodies used with March 809BR and 809BR-HS hydronic
pumps. The March pumps use brush-type conventional 12 and 24V DC motors.
I have heard, but can't confirm, that Dan Fieldman developed the El Sid
