Wallace,
Can you describe what your x v test is? Something more sophisticated
than a DayStar meter?
Anyone have any info about KC70 modules not being up to strength?
TIA,

We recently started stocking the Magnum Energy inverters and when we had a
few installations requiring some adjustments to the default settings we were
advised to order the Magnum Energy Remote Control. However, we then found
out that this is a stripped down control and we needed to order the

I think they go back to defaults. Maybe the remote is just not reading the
values before displaying the set point in question after being power cycled.
To get around the issue, all of our inverter installs come with a "free"
remote.

Jeff,
I don't know if this is true for all of the Magnum inverters, but I
suspect it is:
From the MS-PAE manual: "The settings once programmed are saved in the

Jeff,
Kent's and Maverick's advice is right on. I would challenge your
approach of excluding the remote. The Magnum remote is much easier
to use (and thus harder to mess up) than Outback's traditional

Hi Jeff, Wrenches,
Magnum specifically designed the ARC (Advanced Remote Control) for
off-grid applications so that all of the possible custom settings are
available. We strongly recommend it for several reasons:

what are the differences between the RC and ARC? Since the prices are not too
different, why sell both?

Bill,
It is simpler than that.
I multiplied the labeled peak volts x the peak amps at STC. That is, using the
stated data from label on back of module .
In other words the R in model number might mean refurbished but actually
results in reduced output. Though it is stated as +10/-0% in the ins
What is "peak volts" and "peak amps"?
The only ratings that should apply here are Vmp and Imp. Plus, of course,
deratings for temperature and correction for irradiance and angle of incidence.
See ya!

Todd,
The ARC is the remote control we recommend for use in off-grid systems.
It also displays information from two additional accessory products: the BMK
which is our battery monitor which reports state of charge, real time amps, amp
hours in/out, and minimum/maximum DC volts; and the AGS

Either version of the Magnum Remote will also work with their optional
