Matt, The Enphase and revenue grade meter are in disagreement by less than 1.1% in the system you are describing - that's good agreement! According to the Enphase white paper, the wiring loss in the Enphase cabling between the first and 9th inverter is 0.6%. That only applies to the last inve

Kent, Can you help me understand the 1.1%? I had figured over 4% and allowed that 1-2% may be voltage drop (though it is quite literally 12' of 10 awg between the last enphase and the meter). In a state with a semi-active SREC market all our systems are installed with a revenue grade meter. I s

Kris, I worked traffic signal systems for years, we spliced conductors in pull boxes that fill with water on a regular regular basis. There are products available that are rated for waterproofing connections and the THWN-2 is rated for wet locations, but I don't know about submersed locations.

Why not use submersible pump cable? It's readily available in different wire gauges, usually from a Well Driller or Pump installer. Some bigger electrical supply houses carry it too, and have even seen variations in Home Depot. Sincerely, Chris Worcester Solar Wind Works NABCEP Certified PV I

Wrenches braintrust, I'm working up a bid for a battery/inverter powered series of "T8" style LED 4 foot lamp tubes. They use no starter or ballast but the effect from the inverter waveform is what I'm in the dark about. I have a feeling that any modified square wave might wreak havoc on the LED ci

Hello Wrenches, My employer has the inside track on a 1MW install on .5/12 standing seam metal roofs (two separate roofs). This is by far larger than anything we've designed so I am looking for a ballpark cost/watt. I'm at around $4/watt. I realize there are lots of variables and I am looking for

Hi Wrenches - Most of you already know this, but California solar data, including installed costs, is public information found here: http://www.californiasolarstatistics.org/current_data_files/ Searching for data on other ~ 1MW systems will help you hone in on at least a ballpark figure bu
