[RE-wrenches] immersed heat exchangers

Hi All, I'm looking for any engineering numbers/places to look for calculating heat transfer thru immersed heat exchangers. IE how many BTUs can I expect to pick up/deposit to/from a tank at a given mean water temp in the tank and X mean temp differential in the coil. I'm trying to move beyo

Another problem that is even more basic is the 175 watt limitation, when so many popular panels are now in the 180 to 220 watt range, and getting larger all the time. .. Northern Arizona Wind & Sun -

I think we are all taking a hard look at it... and waiting for someone elses' horror stories of new product beta testing (on a customers' roof). The fact that I have heard no horror stories so far is a positive. They hit SEIA hard with a big, well staffed booth. Clearly a well capitalized com

The only advantages I see with the Enphase inverters are decreased effects of shading and the ability to monitor each module. Other than that, I would anticipate increased installation time and obvious difficulties servicing the inverters. Orion Thornton Independent Power Systems NABCEP Certifi

Greetings David, I believe your decimal point was one tenth over from where it needs to be. For a 48v system using the standard .067 per degree F I calculate your absorption set-point to 59.5 vdc. Did the batteries already see 65v? Any bulging or signs or failure yet? Was the chart you referr

Actually The other advantages I can see, are: 1) much simpler sizing of arrays. You want 5 modules, you put up 5, you want to add 3 latter, you can do that. You could actually do a 1 module system, that the customer could add to as they had finances. 2) at least for small systems, the cost ad

Geoff, Probably the easiest method is to tap into the system ground which is already run to the module frame using an irreversible splice. Some guys run the system ground to the inverters and then irreversibly splice a short "pigtail" to the module. Just be sure to leave a little slack. W
