Carl, Macs have always worked on mod-sine, meaning the SW- and SW+-series Trace/Xantrex, the only genuine mod-sine inverters I know of. On mod-square wave, like DRs and Us, older Macs were incompatible ('90s and earlier) but more recent ones have generally worked O

No problems here with a Xantrex DR and MacBook charging from it. Can't help you regarding Mac desktops, never tried them on mod sine. boB, Truck Stop and China Direct Very Please And Thank You brand inverters give me the willies, since so many folks try to hard wire them in with a male AC plug
