On earlier LiFePO4 batteries for both Radian and XW I built a precharge resistor circuit that goes across the 175A / 250A breaker. I used a momentary push button switch inline with a 10W 10 ohm resistor. And probably should have also used an inline fuse holder. Press the momentary switch for few se

Thx Nick. The limitations on specific BMS is quite interesting and disappointing I couldn’t start a 1/2 a radian with 60kwh of older style eg4. But with just a bit of solar on it started it no issue. So there is a real problem with the limitations on inrush. JayOn Dec 11, 2024, at 12:07 PM, Nick Lu

Hello again Wrenches, Some minor developments in this last week and figured I'd share my experiences so others will be prepared and not stuck in the same situation as myself. I was able to test this with a brand new out of the box Radian and another new Powerflo 16 and had the exact same outcome.

Hi NickI remember I tried to start a radian with 60kwh and it wouldn’t work. Yes just 1 power module, but with just a bit of solar connected it started right up. Obviously a nighttime restart isn’t going to work. All the other inverters I’ve used haven’t had an issue so something unique to the desi

Good afternoon Jay, 16 KWH's when full, appears that my first two shipped at 34-50% SOC. Enjoy your evening, Nick On Sun, Nov 10, 2024 at 10:44 AM Jay via RE-wrenches < re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org> wrote: > How many kWh of battery do you have. > > Jay > > > > On Nov 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM

Nick Upon further review of your message (you don’t have PV input). Try turning on just one inverter 175A (half the inverter) prior to battery boot up, then turn on the other half as soon as it does boot. That will split the start up surge. Also may identify if an inverter module is working.

Maybe a silly question but have you tried shutting off all load breakers(ac output) and charge controller breakers before powering up? I've noticed radians have a hard time powering up on homegrids if they have a load. If I have to do a hard reset on a radian I also shutdown the charge controllers

Hi Nick There are PF16's running open loop with Radians. The PF16 has a precharge built in. The key is to have the inverter breaker closed, then close the battery breaker. After that push the BMS power button (3-4 seconds the display will power up) and the battery will slowly ramp up and do a prec

Greetings Wrenches, Wondering if any of you have successfully paired the new Powerflo16 with a GS8048-A yet? There is no reason it shouldn't work yet I've unsuccessfully been to a customer's site three times now without a fix. The Radian setup had been in use with an FLA Trojan pack for years till
