Nik,
We did a 30 kW system with Sollega racking and Sollega wants us to try
their racking out for residential systems. However, engineering and
material costs never seem to pencil out for small ballast systems. We
always need seismic anchors points in the SF Bay Area so there isn’t
typically a w
The charge set points were a little low.
Probably not overcharged or under (much). There may possibly have
been a low battery incident or two. It is my suspicion, but is not
backed by any testimony to confirm.
The location is inside where it doesn't get extremes of temperature.

Ha that's a good one.
But still good to know if they were murdered or had defects.
While I also have had early failures on every brand, that's earlier than most

Usually it's outside of warranty, of course.

Hi drake,
The early failure of other batteries brings up questions
Charge set points?
Frequent overcharge, possible but damn unusual
Frequent undercharge?
Hi heat location?
Offgrid?
Ongrid?
Battery type?

This is a premature failure, possibly a manu defect and may be addressed
under a prorated wttee. That being said corrosion in a L16 type of battery can
be caused by customer over filling the battery causing excessive electrolyte to
stay on the top of the battery or bad post seal. in older batt
Trojan L 16s have a known issue with premature cell failures. The T105s
seem to still be fine, but I won't sell the L16 anymore.
SG readings don't even matter when you have an obvious cell failure.
Its like doing blood work on a corpse.

The batteries were tested with a glass bulb, turkey baster type
hydrometer. The SG read higher than the scale on all the batteries.
The electrolyte was clear. The batteries were not too old, maybe
three years, with some newer ones, as others in the bank had failed.
The corrosion was notable. I
How are you reading the SG?

This is not uncommon. Main reason for taking cell voltage AND Spg. If all the

been depleted on the plate and is sitting in the bottom of that cell. When this
happens usually the acid in that cell, if it is a positive p
