I have had the best luck with OutBack for "off Grid" even if there is grid
sometimes, SMA is my #2 but I like DC coupling or AC in most applications
but they also have there place. I just am completing a dual radian install
and when it came to start up it was up right away without any issues.

Kirk, I agree with Peter. I have installed several Radians with good luck. I
installed one SI and it worked ok but was more expensive and very time
consuming to install. Did one XW and would never do it again. Never has
worked right.

Hi Kirk,
Schneider Conext XW is 120 or 120/240 with dual input
SMA SI 120v but has a dual input relay system you can use.
These are the only other two I know of that will sell from the battery inverter.

My 2 centavos. Stick with them. I prefer their approach over SMA.

Hello,
Can anyone recommend a good battery-based inverter for grid-intertie? I need
both generator and utility inputs, 120 or 240 output. I have experience with
the OB Radian series but don't know what else is out there. Thanks.

In my PV/battery training sessions for fire departments, we recommend CO2
extinguishers. Fire departments almost always have at least one; they don't
usually carry halon. I leave acid/alkaline electrolyte neutralizer with
each battery installation and then just recommend to the homeowner a fire

I think I would put in an eye wash station first, followed by a set of
cable cutters. The one battery fire I experienced was a quick burn of
the hydrogen off of a single cell, lasted a few seconds with very little
heat, and extinguished it self. It was the result of a shorted battery
