We chose not to put any pumps or filters on our Snorkel stove heated cedar tub and would never choose otherwise for off-grid. Wood heats water faster than any other fuel and even in the coldest winter the tub can freeze and both tub and stove survive quite nicely and heat up faster than you’d t

I used to use bromine, but it irritated my skin. I switched to a product called Clearwater Blue. Its active ingredient is copper sulphate. I add a cap full every week. It keeps the water clear for a couple of months and is gentle on skin. Highly recommend it. Available from Spa Depot. Jonathan
