Hello Wrenches,
Are any of you aware of any recall on low producing Sayo HIP-190BA3 from 2005?
Thanks,
Nick Vida

The interupting rating has to do with the equipment. Each piece of switch
gear or breaker has an interupt rating. The service from the utility is
capable of delivering a certian amount of current under short circuit
conditions. In a large metro area like a downtown loop it may be 200,000

What would everyone do if all the conditions were the same except the winter
temps could reach -60 F? There is not an inverter out there that can come
close to handling these extreme temps.

Wrenches,
As I recall the Xantrex ALM and GSM are the same, but different :). Can anyone
verify?
Of course the relays would be labeled wrong if interchanged.

Hi Jeff,
Can you please explain why you don't like running high voltage DC long
distances?
thanks,

We have designed and installed many systems like this and do not like running
high voltage DC long distances. We invert at the array and run 240 VAC to the
house. This means the array dis-connects match all the other AC dis-connects
and safety switches on the home's exteror that the utilities

We are getting more and more calls about people who think they can just hook a

I believe your PE is referring to the short circuit current calculations
of 110.10, and the 110.24 marking requirements for AFC (Available Fault
Current). The utility company should be able to give you the AFC at the
secondary of their transformer, or better yet - at the service equipme
Steve,
That is not what is happening. Are you saying that the inverter aux
port should still work if LBCO is reached? It does not, and I was told
otherwise by Outback Tech Support. Is the LBCO delay programmable? I do
not see that documented.

Along the same subject I was in Sams Club last month and they had a whole stack of 24 volt 200 watt Grape Solar grid-tie modules for sale at a really low price. However, these were pigtail connectors and there was no documentation, no inverters, no combiners, no nothing to tell customers anything
Jason,
If LBCO is 46.00 and the 2 minute start is 47.2. When the voltage goes below
47.2 the 2 minute start timer would begin to count down. When the voltage
reaches 46.00 the five minute LBCO voltage timer starts. Because the 2 minute
timer will expire in 2 minutes and even if the warm-up time
Hi James,
Breakers/fuses/disconnects/load centers have an Ampere Interrupt Current
(AIC) rating as well as voltage and rated trip current. This tells how much
of an arc might be created during a fault or de-energization under full
load.

I second that option. Run high voltage strings (say 13- 30 volt

Do you or have you tested the efficiency of the new 600v unit?

We have done two so far and they seem to be good Input needs to be over
200vdc. They are available and we have them in our warehouse. Contact me off
