We're designing a 30kW PV system based around the PVP-30kW inverter. I'd
appreciate any feedback from those of you who have experience with this
inverter.
Also, any experience with PVP's web-based performance monitoring (included
with this inverter)? The specifications call for Fat Spani
Phil,
Have you clamped this circuit to see what the actual amps are?

The Surrette Tech Bulletin 614 is available for download at http://surrette.com/files/BU-RS-614.pdf. My understanding is that this bulletin is the direct result of the complaints on this list about two years ago about Surrette battery performance and life.

The MX60 current limits by misaligning the MPPT. I have mine set to 70
amps with a 90 amp output breaker and on cold, winter, edge of cloud
days I have seen the unit peak the output wattage as high as 4812
watts/94 amps @ 51.2 volts before the software could throttle the unit
back!
I'd try up
Peter,
Pro-Solar offers the black end/mid clamps so they have a place that can
do the work. You may want to ask them if they can offer you black
tilt-up legs and maybe even black rails.

Hi Phil;
THe only thing I could think, is that your battery voltage would
drop, when the EV charger came on. If its a small battery bank this
could be a large enough drop to cause the MX 60 output to go over 60
amps long enough to trip the breaker. We had a similar problem,

Nik,
Check out Google Sketch Up. You can use it in conjunction with Google Earth
to designate your location and apply shading. The free version will probably
give you want you want and it doesn't take too long to learn the program.
