are using. Could I make a Little Big Ben work without too much hassle? On a
related note, any thoughts on what brakes provide the most clearance? I'd
like to use the Paul centerpulls, but are the Dia-Compes going to do a
better job of accommodating fenders and a fattish tire?
Thanks,
If you're jonesing for a Rambouillet, I have an original orange,
fancy-lugged 62 that I just don't ride much anymore. It's in really good
condition. I would love for it to find a good home and am willing to make a
deal.

It's an entirely reasonable listing. Rivendell punches above its weight in
terms of influencing bike design. The Casseroll has many Riv-ish
characteristics and is an affordable compromise. I hope that the RBW list
is more about an approach to cycling than brand loyalty.

Yes, I embrace my short rides.

For my money the LHT is the best value around for bikes that embody bobbish
virtues - steel construction, relaxed geometry with longish chainstays,
plenty of brazeons for racks and fenders, and lots of clearance for big
tires.

lightweight wool is a better year-round solution, because it resists
dampness and remains warm when saturated. But on warm days - and we do get
them! - it's hard to beat cotton seersucker.

conditions, since it vents so well. Burley stopped making jackets a while ago,
but Showers Pass is probably its spiritual successor.
