Joyce Remember your Platypus has a 135mm rear end OLD, while your Gallop is 130mm. You wont break anything forcing the wrong sized hub in, but you may scratch the paint more than you'd like. I was literally saying what I would do. I was not necessarily telling you what you should do. :).

I ran the Velo Orange 'Zeppelin' 52mm faceted fenders on my CHG proto with 42mm Shikoro's, but it had canti brakes which is apples to oranges compared to your caliper brakes. That said, Knowing the reach on the CHG and the fact that up to 58mm fenders can be made to work with such caliper brakes
