What's in there is most likely a 110mm, but I guess it could possibly be a
113 or maybe even a 107. The length should be stamped in the spindle, so
have a look. Also you could just measure the length. It's going to be one
of those three sizes.

Found this guy - Chris, from Ministry Cycles - in my facebook feed

social media, and might have some of these links out of order.

Joe, right…I mean, it’s one thing to say he THINKS he can get it shipped
for $100, and another thing to report that he’s FOUND a shipper to handle
it for $100…and without identifying the shipping company (and only
minutes of my giving him that responsibility)…this was one of those red
flags.
Exactly. With appropriately wide rims you can play relatively fast and
loose with tire pressure, but with really fat tires on
not-quite-wide-enough rims you do have to be more careful about pressure.
Still …. 72 mm actual on ~19 mm IW rims at 12 psi (tubeless) …

I'm the proud owner of a Charlie Gallop frame. It comes with a
pre-installed bottom bracket. But I can't figure out what size it is. I was
hoping somebody knew. I don't really want to remove it if it's the size I
need. Thanks in advance for any info.

I emailed Jan Heine once about RTP's on mavic 717 which have a narrow inner

was indeed fine. I did notice that when the tires tended to squirm at lower

Thanks for taking the time to lay all this out, Bill. I have last year's
Roadini and while it feels light with 30mm tires, I know it's punching
above 20 pounds. Perhaps over time I will look to get the weight lower, as
I replace parts.

I mostly ignore these recommendations, as I find I can run pretty much any
tire on any rim (assuming tire is wider than the rim). Probably the most
egregious example in my household is my son's bike with 2.6" (66mm) tires
on 17mm internal rims. Works fine.

There's no hard number that we can guarantee. If you want to run 80mm wide
fat bike tires, that's probably too much. If you want to run 60mm tires,
that's probably fine. If you want us to collectively identify the absolute
widest tire on Earth that is absol
Thanks Andy. I reckon I'll go for the Hope hub. Dearer than some, cheaper
than others and apparently it just keeps on rolling.

Hey all,
Wanted to ask as I see lots of differing opinions from wheel/tire
manufacturers about proper tire width for different rim widths. I’d always
heard you don’t want your tire more than twice the internal width of your
rim, but the RH website has a table and some blog posts to the contrary
The 57 Gallop frame set that I set aside at Riv HQ is Dark Gold in color.
I have a "Riv Blue" Romulus and so I went for the stable-contrast. They
are both excellent colors in my opinion.

I have a 26" Atlantis with Atlas rims, and have run Humptulips Ridge tires
on them with no problems whatsoever. They measure about 50mm wide on my

There's another thread on how I'm going to take a run at a <9kg Gallop

builds in my workshop. I'll apologize in advance for the long narrative,

Hi Joyce
There's an immense backstory at every single piece on this build, and I was
going to meter it out one section at a time for that reason. One of the
fun backstories is that my old college roommate has asked me to set aside
2+ weeks in the Summer of 2027 to do a Loire Valley cycle-tour.
Bill,
This series of build descriptions is of great interest to me and so timely
since my Charlie Gallup has been shipped. I appreciate your strategy
explanation and it's helping me think about my own new bike. I'll have my
LBS build it up; I'm consulting with them about parts on Monday. The go
Hope hubs are nice and robust, but be forewarned - they are among the loudest I’ve owned. I have one on my Crust. Louder than White and Chris King, in my experience. BrianLex KY On Nov 28, 2024, at 2:30 PM, Cormac O'Keeffe wrote:Thanks Andy. I reckon I'll go for the Hope hub. Dearer than some, c
