If I understand your writing, you want a Clem more than you want to invest
in the Soma? The Soma is not precious to you?
It is ALWAYS cheaper to invest in the the thing you want. Whether it is a
bicycle, a guitar, a house or a pair of trousers. Stop making sense and get
the one you want.

Bump - someone emailed me recently (but then disappeared) asking is this is
still for sale. It sure is - come check it out in Boston! Or take a leap
and get an incredibly light and fun bike.
I'm tempted to just keep it for a bit and go through with the 650b
conversion I had planned for it. I al

My wife talked *me* out of the fiduciary utilitarian rationale of fixing up

It wouldn't surprise me to hear the same from you.
So. Much. More. Enjoyable.

Howdy,
Thank you to those who have reached out. Just dropping in to say I would also
trade the Sam frameset for a 55/56 Atlantis frameset as well. Maybe even a
Platy (size 60 I think).
Headed out on a bike tour if I don’t respond until next week.

They both turn to beautiful reds! It’s especially mesmerizing when they
cover the floor of a spruce and jack pine forest, incredible contrast.
Forgot to mention that pic was snapped from the saddle of my (new to me)

Just dropping in to say that greasing the expander wedge and bolt fixed the
clicking I had on a quill stem bike of mine!
It was clicking I heard when yanking on the wide bars near the ends, such
as standing up and pedalling. It’s a singlespeed, so I used to hear that
sound all the time…

I've grown to love the faceplate stems but it did take awhile. The classic
quill look is very nice. To me the benefits outweigh the ever so slight
loss of beauty. They just make more sense and reduce some flex with the
sweptback bars.

I'd never heard of mechanics' stethoscopes; thanks for bringing them up.

That’s okay. It seems many people in Eastern Mass don’t consider Berkshire

I don't mean to hijack your post, but I have one available as well, new.
I think it's a fair price that clearly sells, so I'll be selling mine for
$120, shipped.
