It's beautiful. Looks comfy and capable and just the right balance of black

Only in the Riv group are we calling a 43mm tire "slender". :)

Indeed 43 mm are generally not slender but I had a set of 42s on my Clem
for awhile and they look slender on it. I found them good on pavement and
good enough on gravel. Let us know how they work for you Richard!

Thanks all!
I ended up buying the Sake Ringyo MTE-100 at Kim's suggestion!
Currently using my backup B67 right now, as the B17 is out for repairs, but
will report back once the seatpost and my regular saddle are back in the
rotation.

Just wanted to share an update! I gave them a call today and spoke with
Vince. He was really helpful and was confident I’d be happiest with a 57.
Although my PBH is an in between for the Appaloosa, with larger tires, the
57 would be a more manageable ride.

There are "baguettes" and then there are "baguettes Français"

Post of the day Patrick, at least so far. And maybe the most fun. Now we'll
all be vying for who can find the longest baguette to carry on their

No longer available. Listed as an ebay auction. Current winning bid is
$2.25. If it fits you don't be shy.

I personally wish they’d bring back the double top tube. I like the look of

Hi Eliot
Did you ever get an opportunity to put some wheels on and measure the stand
over height?

But will those do equal duty, DT or BE shifters?

Hey Mike, I don’t remember getting that request. Sorry about that. I don’t
have wheels for it any more but would guesstimate 820-830 based on a test
ride when I bought it and past experience.

I went into this sold on polished but folks at Riv have me reconsidering.
Anyone have input?

Why not have some fun with it? I like to have some sort of anodized
component color on all my bikes. My trouble is, that color usually turns
out to be gold no matter what... but it's fun and I think it looks cool.

I have a titanium bike completely outfitted in polished goodies (Paul, White Industries, Velocity), and I have to say it’s gorgeous. I won this bike in a raffle and never would have treated myself to such luxury but it’s really a sight to see. I have the regular silver Paul brake levers and thumbie
My apologies. I misread your question. I assumed you were asking if you
should go with polished or an anodized ("pop") color.
In that respect, I tend to go down the path of letting the rim finish
choice dictate whether most of the other stuff is polished or just silver.

Haha that’s awesome Bill. You’re welcome to it at that price if you win.
I’d hope for more but it doesn’t fit me and I have other projects that

I did a similar tire swap on my platypus.
I had been running Rene Herse 55mm knobbies in endurance casing.
I recall Jan saying they have similar rolling resistance to the standard
casing and I have zero complaints about them.
I just wanted to try a bit smaller tire.
