I’m thinking your existing crank may very well have 74 bcd tapped drillings on
the inside that, with 5 more chainring bolts and spacers, will allow you to
mount a third, inner ring down to 24 teeth. If so, no new crank needed to
convert to a triple.

I still have this frame, if anyone needs a project. $800 shipped.
Maybe worth mentioning that it does still have canti studs as well as disc

Thanks Collin! I've noodled the very southern end of that route on a

Collin, perhaps we could continue the thread drift a bit, because the 'east

As far as I’m concerned, we can all agree to ride in from different points

If I can't mount it on the fork crown, stem, handlebars or rack I mount it on
the right side. The lights these days are bright enough that cars can see it
wherever its mounted, but most roads tend to get choppier the closer you get to
the curb, with the light on the right I can see the curb, Ape
I don’t know of any taller V brakes. This is a well known problem with that

I forgot to say that I will really miss the Cheviot name and decals if they
rename the bike. If it gets a new name please no Wolbis. Or Slugstone. I dread
telling newcomers, “Let me tell you about my Wolbis.” It will sound terribly
inappropriate.
Looking at the bike and what a class act it is,
I see a name thread coming! I vote Elliottdale, a hardy Tasmanian sheep breed.
Name can also be read Elliott Dale, which sounds as delightfully bonkers as
Charlie Gallup et al.

Shimano, generic V-brakes. All they say on them is "Shimano", other

Definitely look at the model number of your current v brakes and figure out the
arm length. Then use gravelbike.com's table to buy a brake that work.
I have fooled around with this same problem quite a bit. It looks like you just
need a few mm longer.
