Eric, I have a pair of Nifties purchased in 2011 and replaced the same year
with less than 100 miles on them. Nothing wrong, I just got a good deal on
Pari-Motos and wanted to try them. Stored inside since 2011. I'm not

David, I run the new Ultegra short cage on my Ram with 44/30 & 11-28 9
spd set up with DT friction. It is the best shifting setup I have used in
35 years of cycling, an that includes Ultegra SIS.

For you experienced dirt drop bar folks, what stem do you run (if possible
in contrast with an Albatross bar)? I have the Tallux 12 cm with my Albas
now. A different tread for road bikes suggested Alba and noodles may be the
same stem, so I was planning on starting there and seeing how it goes.
Good looking Homer on eBay but I didn't see 3 water bottle mounts so I
emailed the seller and he confirmed that it only has 2. Just looking to

I encourage you to try it out. I predict that you will lose nothing in

Small potatoes.
I run dyads and have a schmidt on the front wheel; I think they're
excellent bulletproof rims. And you can always turn off your light if you
want :)
I went on a slightly longer ride on the barlow pass tires, and oh my, they
sing!

The A719 is a high-end rim not heavy - just not light-weight. The huge
benefit of dynamo lighting makes the front wheel swap an excellent idea
(assuming the bicycle would be ridden at night). The only consideration
for the rear wheel is if the Phil hub is compatible with your current
gearing
Michael: good tires will make a far greater differnce in performance and
"feel" than differences in wheels, which, if minimally decent in bearings
and rim weight, will make very little difference by comparison.
The Phil rear and SON front sound top of the line acceptable to me.

I had that happen on an old Trek frame that I had. I took an AVK threaded
insert and kludged the installation of it with a bolt and a stack of
washers. Once installed, it held fine. It looked kind of ugly but you
couldn't see it when the cage was installed anyway.
