It's technically feasible to run a short rear derailer with a triple, but
you'll have excess slack in the chain if you use the small-small
chainring/rear-cog combo. If you're interested, I have a "9-speed" Shimano

It stands to reason that if a regular road bike with 700 wheels and
short-reach brakes can be 650b-ized, you could reverse-engineer a Bleriot.
I think a young guy at RBW HQ has done it to an AHH.

I tried a 700c Bleriot maybe 4-5 years ago. I think "normal" 57 mm brakes
worked with 700x28 and close clearances. To do it with 559 wheels, you'd need
extremely long reach brakes - probably not a good idea.

when really, I've wanted a touring bike.

If the bike is set up correctly in the pictures then it looks like it fits
fine. If the issue is you just don't want a go fast road bike that is fine but
it looks good to me. If the parts will work on the bike you have in mind then

Hey all - I am reading up on studded tire choices for my wife's betty,
which is 650b. Are there schwalbe marathon winters which fit?
If there are not, any tips on studded tires for 650b bikes?
