FWIW, I used Paselas, mostly non-Tourguard, for many years and
compared them to many different kinds of tire; my own judgment is that
they are decent but (1) very sensitive to pressure and (2) prone to
flats with rather fragile sidewalls. They don't roll or corner as well
as JB greens or Kojaks. I

The speculation is that there have been carbon tubular 650c rims in the
Tri-community for years, and mountain tubulars to fit same, for years.
That's been common in the mountain bike racing community. Not dominant,
but not unheard of. It's obviously possible that DT swiss made a 584

It was Jan Heine who said it. Maybe he's wrong. I did not fact check.

Jan is simply wrong about 26 inch tubulars - ENVE makes them and
Duguast makes a 26" tubular on a non-custom basis. I think GEAX makes

Jan retracted that part of his post, in which he claimed that 559 tubular
rims and/or tires did not exist. He rewrote it to focus on the point he

All,
It is pretty reasonable to assume 650c rim size in this case. I would
not bet against sdt swiss doing a run of 650B tubular rims though.
The tires are easy in 26", 650b or 650c, the hard part is the rims.

But (speaking hypothetically - I don't need a bike) I wish they would have shifted to that awesome blue WITHOUT contrasting headtube as a way to keep the cost down closer to $1000. Whenever the "lower cost" Rivendells creep up in price, I get nervous for some reason.

That is what I assume, since the indicated only the two tt ones have the
new color. Most likely because those are Taiwan frames so they can eat
some of the cost of the fancy paint job.

I doubt it..no small Rivendells come with two tts. I presume the 48/52
remains uno-tubed.
