I bailed on the Brewpub Populaire in Oregon to do my first 200k this past Saturday in Bellingham, WA. It was definitely an experience! I rode in snow, freezing rain, plenty of wind, and ultimately sunshine through some pretty country on a relatively flat course (for this area). No bonking or mechanicals made this one a win. I rode my '09 AHH kitted out in rando garb with Acorn bags front and rear. Not too heavy on the packing - mostly liquid food, and a spare wool top, bottom, hat, and gloves. The only thing I used were the extra gloves as my original winter gloves were soaked within the first few hours. I changed when the rain stopped, and my summer gloves kept my hands warm at that point. I ended up doing the ride mostly alone as there was nobody willing to go as slow as me :) I felt a real sense of accomplishment at the end, it being my longest ride ever.
