I have been using my Rambouillet mostly as a commuter and for rides
less than 1 to 2 hours long. I have been thinking about trying out
some upright bars on it for better visibility. Anyone try this with
their Rambouillet?

My wife rides her Rambouillet with an Albatross bar and bar end shifters.
She loves it for general riding around town and easy rides.

Albatross bars are good on any bike ! The field of view is great.
You'll likely want a longer stem though. If you want to maximize the usable
hand space of the bar, try bar end brake levers and thumbshifters. This
frees the entire bar around the curve for your hands. I ride 3+ hours with
them
Hi Ray, I'm glad you're ok.
Pics of the rim are really scary. It makes me think that I'll have a
look at mine !
I sometimes ride this hill (living in SF) and man, it could have been
worst if you were speeding.
Take care !

I got a pair of Half-Mitts for Christmas and they are swell. Rode for
an hour this morning at about 26 degrees with them over a pair of army
surplus double-layer wool mittens with leather palms. Hands were just
fine. I would say better at that temperature than leather choppers
with thick wool mi
Liesl,
One thing I've pondered about the half mitts is how they work if you ride with
your hands on the brake lever hoods.
Can you comment on that?
Thanks,

After having tried to like these bars, I've finally decided that they don't
really work for me. I'd like to trade these for something else... Dream
(177), the old Nitto 185, Albatross, etc.
The standard Noodle 177 is in good++ condition, 41cm. The lighter Soba is
also 41cm, and it is in ove

Hi Jim,
I ride mustaches, so I can't comment on riding on the hoods--however,
I ride a lot of positions on the 'staches and
I'm running a 110 BB on my Atlantis with a Sugino triple. My granny gear is

I love riding with my bike club, really I do, and they're wonderful
people and great riding companions, but can I just rant here, among
like-people, for just a minute?
I swear, when someone shows up at my club with a new bike, the first
and only topic of discussion is weight.
