Lacing the saddle worked great to give it the right narrow shape. In
the end I sold this saddle because it was not firm enough. Still,
it's a nice saddle.

I recently moved from Tucson to Bismarck and was wondering if anyone
out there is in this area or has any experience riding in the area. I
know there are some bike paths around the city but was looking for
other suggested rides. Any advice or comments are greatly
appreciated.
Cheers!

Clif,
I'd seen your photos on the "Tall Riders" Flickr group. That's a nice
looking Quickbeam! I don't really anticipate any possibility of going
to the Caprock Canyons trailway anytime sooner than late spring, and
maybe not until fall. At this point, my impression of the trail is
that it's pre
Are you in Texas? You might already know about it but the Mineral
Wells State Trailway, while not as long, is a great trail. Super well
kept, it rolls though the Cross Timbers between Mineral Wells and
Weatherford.

Update. I have three times in the log book now. The first one was on
700C wheels and I felt lousy, so I expect that I'll ignore that
2:09:45 time. The second ride confirmed that the first will probably
get tagged an outlier. I did the same ~26 mile hilly stretch through
the east bay hills in 1:
They are about $100 new right?

This might be old news, but Paul is making adapters for putting silver
shifters on their thumbies.

It's $21, but I probably would've done it this way instead of shimano had
they been out last fall when I built my hunqapillar. Good stuff, figured

Riv has 'em, too. Looks like that adapter would allow thumbies to
work with basically any downtube friction shifter now. That's pretty
cool.

Man, 5 mins left and it's at just $2,500! Someone's gonna get a great deal on
that beautiful Sam.
As much as I wanted to bid on it, I've decided the double top tube is overkill
(functionally and visually) for me – and I already have a spare cockpit and of
nice 700C wheels that I should put on a
Clif,
No I'm in Arizona (Tucson). I appreciate the suggestion of the
Mineral Wells State Trailway, I'll try to check it out. I have some
relatives living in Texas, so I occasionally visit them.

I agree, after living in Tucson for 33 years, I'm sure my blood would
instantly congeal if I had to endure a winter in North Dakota...

No problem, I am going to make a vulcanized rubber mold and cast them
in mass. I am a jeweler by trade and it should be no problem making a
mold and casting a few...or more. I'll try to post the results
sometime soon. Maybe after this weekend.

I have a new car with a shorter roof line, and can't use my existing short
tray racks. Wondering if someone has any long trays lying that around they
want to sell. I don't need the actual fork mount part, just the trays. One
would be okay, but two would be better.
Thanks,
David
