Hello fellow Rivendell riders!
I just got back from a three-day trip to Marin County to finalize all
the details of the July 23-25 Rough Riders Rally, including riding all
three Rally routes with my Garmin 310xt to create the maps, finalize
route sheets, and such. Full route details, including int

I have the Zeppelins on my Quickbeam. I manipulated: squeezed, squoze
and pinched them to fit between the chainstays. They have about 6" of
below-the-stay drop, but you could also end the fender right AT the
stays, and spend your time rigging a bolt and mount.

Chris,
This sounds like one of the best things ever. It sounds so good that I've been
bummed that I can't attend, and the only reason I'm not attending is that I'm

I have been happily using grip king pedals for the past 2000 miles or
so. Recently purchased a used atlantis, minus pedals, and bought a
pair of animal bmx pedals from the local bike shop. Alloy platform,
with screws already in place for grip. no need to add aftermarket

I agree. On the four bikes that I own I have variety of run-of-the-
mill BMX pedals - Redline, MoSH, Giant - and they work just fine.
They may be a bit heavier than some of the higher end "pinned" pedals,
but they are cheap!

Looks like it is missing down tube shifter mounts. For me, it might
be a big deal as I really like the simplicity of down tube shifters.
I do run bar end shifters on my Atlantis, but both custom Rivendells

It's true that it doesn't have downtube shifter mounts, but it's not quite
accurate to say that they are "missing", because Hillbornes were never
advertised as having them.

Well... I said "missing" because I've seen this thing on one other

I think you underestimate your ride. The trail from Old Sac to Folsom
Lake (Beals Point) is 32 miles or so each way. Even if you turned at
Nimbus Dam (Lake Natoma), that's 23 miles out. Either way, a nice
place to ride a QB. Actually, it was pretty nice on my recumbent,

You're correct, Bill. It was the Natomas Dam, not Folsom. I stopped also at

there were cyclists loaded up for touring, as well. It's
