I use the 60mm steel Berthoud fenders. They work very well and have great
coverage. I got them from Wallingford Bikes.

I think they would not work. At least not easily and optimally.
My 45mm Smokes were smaller than 45mm, and I don't think they'd fit
under ANY fender. Right now, I'm running (rocking/rubbing)... ...I
have mounted on my Quickbeam 42mm IRC Mythos "slicks" with the knobs
cut off, under 52mm Zeppelins.
