I've been reading through the pannier recommendations because I'm

buying my first set of panniers (for Bleriot) and I'm wanting a light
weight set. I like the

I shoudl have just generically said "drop bars" for those that have
their particular flavor they like. The thing I was going for was that
almost all 16 of those bikes made sense. The Bombadil, Hunqapillar
and Atlantis all absolutely make sense with any of those handlebars.

and follow Angeles Forest Hiway over Mill Creek Summit down to Upper
Big Tujunga rd. Follow that to Angeles Crest Hiway and then take
Angeles Crest back to Angeles Forest. It's about 80 miles RT. With a
good amount of climbing

I can't make the 21st but have ridden Angeles Crest, Angeles Forest,
Big Tujunga, etc. Great riding; nice steady climbs. Another
objective can be Mt Wilson and there's a loop that makes a century,
but requires a lot of time on Foothill, between Sunland and La
Canada. The Acton Met
Thinking about it we could alternatively go south from Mill Creek
Summit and climb up Mt Gleason(~6500). There are some dirt Forest
Service roads on the back side of Gleason we could take that would
eventually take up back down to Acton. I've ridden them on a rigid MTB
and we should be fine on 35mm

That's mine. The color was selected by my wife from the Dupont Fleet Color
chart JB gave me. I didn't tell Grant & company that I changed the color, and
they freaked when the frame was delivered to RBW. They thought JB messed up.
But they were happy to charge me an extra $50 for custom color

I love the tire clearance on my Hilsen. I had to take the fenders off
my Hilsen to deal with some hardware issues and decided to throw on
the Schwalbe 700x40s from my commuter bike. I was inspired by Grant's
recent post and this PDF he threw up:

After I gouged my Bleriot, I took a careful look at the Silver Hupe
while mounted on the bike and concluded the arms were designed too
close together around the mounting points, which makes it have a
tendency to pop off inwards when riding on bumpy roads. I took the
Hupe off, placed it in a vice,
I have a Sam Hill with Tektro CR720's. They have a brass bushing that
pivots on the canti post. There is a lot of play in the pivot due to
the bushing being larger in diameter and shorter in length than the
post, which means it can wobble back and forth and side ways. It does
not pose a problem whe

I had a similar issue w/ the Sam Hillborne when I first installed the
CR720s. After adjusting the angle of the brake pads, to eliminate toe-
in, I haven't noticed any vibrations and have had very minimal break
squeal.
