The one piece with the carrying strap is perfect for carry on luggage. I've taken to putting my separates in a duffel just because they never stay together. And look at those D-rings! The tent & sleeping pad go there. This is looking way-cool. Can't quite figure out the attachments from the photos but I'll bet it's dirt simple & reliable.
Yes, separates would be good for the front.
